The Rehabilitation Services Program provides the following services to each participant in the program. These services include: vocational assessments & evaluations; job development and placement; on the job training; supported employment; supported education; follow along supported services and community integration.

Each individual receives a vocational assessment that includes client setting of goals, objectives, and interest, proposed number of work hours per week and length of employment.

The mission of the Rehabilitation Services Program is to facilitate community integration, secure employment opportunities and provide effective follow-up services to insure job security, income maintenance and community tenure. The Rehabilitation Services Program serves individuals with behavioral health issues, physical disabilities and participants of the Family Independence Project which is “Rhode Island’s Welfare” to work program.

All Community Support Program clients are eligible for Rehabilitation Services. Outpatient clients are deemed eligible on an individualized basis based on personal goals, functional impairment and, in some cases, authorization by the Office of Rehabilitation Services.

Participants in the Family Independence Project are eligible for Rehabilitation Services by DHS referral. The target population is parents who have relatively little work history or success in the workplace. Many of the individuals in the Family Independence Project face the following barriers: behavioral health issues; limited work history; physical disabilities; lack of transportation; unstable housing; or criminal records.
