South Shore Center

Counseling Services provides a full range of therapeutic, diagnostic and counseling services for adults and children utilizing individual, group and family modalities. Clients are seen on an as-needed basis with a concentration on brief, solution focused treatment.

Each client participates in an admission assessment, treatment plan, and discharge planning. Psychiatric evaluations are offered and scheduled as determined by the clinical assessment.

A part of every clinical assessment is an assessment for substance use. Clients who receive a primary substance diagnosis are assigned to our Addictions Program and are treated by certified chemical dependency counselors and master’s level clinicians. The program also provides co-occurring counseling services for clients who have both a substance abuse and mental health disorder. Clients needing more intensive outpatient substance treatment are referred to primary substance treatment facilities who maintain affiliation agreements with our center.

We provide services at various locations and have flexible hours, including evening appointments.

The mission for South Shore Mental Health Center’s Outpatient Services Program is to promote and maintain the mental health of adults and children living in Washington County. This mission is pursued through the provision of a variety of services, ranging from prevention and educational consultation to diagnosis, therapy and follow-up monitoring. The services of the Outpatient Program are coordinated and combined whenever possible with the services of other agencies to effectively utilize resources and provide for the needs of the clients served. All services are delivered in a manner that seeks to provide quality care and respect for individual human dignity.
